PCSIR Laboratories Complex, KARACHI

Pakistan Council of Scientific & Industrial Research (PCSIR) an accredited for ISO 17025 Standards Laboratory, was first established in 1953 at Karachi as an autonomous body registered under the Societies Act of 1860. It was reconstituted by an act of parliament in 1973, allowing it to play the direct role in national development, having greater emphasis on providing R&D solutions to Industrial problems, helping Industry to manage and reduce waste and use indigenous material/ processes/technology, to increase their internal rate of return to be more competitive.

Karachi is main seaport and the main financial center of Pakistan, as well as the capital of the province of Sindh. With an estimated population of 13-15 million, Karachi is one of the world's largest cities in terms of population, the 13th  largest urban agglomeration, and the 4th largest metropolitan area in the world. It is Pakistan's premier center of banking, industry, and trade and is home to Pakistan's largest corporations, including those involved in textiles, shipping, automotive industry, entertainment, the arts, fashion, advertising, publishing, software development and medical research. The city is a major hub of higher education in South Asia and the wider Islamic world.
